Ramadan is the most important time of the year for corporate hospitality in Saudi Arabia. Hosting an Iftar (breaking the fast) is the best way to show appreciation to your clients and build strong business relationships. A well-planned Ramadan event creates goodwill that lasts all year.
1. When Should You Start Planning?
You need to start planning at least 2 to 3 months before Ramadan begins. The best Majlis venues and luxury hotel spaces in Riyadh and Jeddah book up very fast! If you want a huge, branded Suhoor event, you should start even earlier—around 4 months ahead.
2. Types of Corporate Ramadan Events
Not sure what kind of event to host? Here are the three most popular options:
Corporate Iftar Dinner: The most common choice. A formal dinner at sunset starting with dates and water, followed by a huge buffet of Arabic and international food.
Suhoor Activation: A fun, late-night gathering (midnight to 3 AM). It is more casual, usually with live Oud music and light food. *(Note: Live music needs a GEA permit!)*
Ramadan Majlis: A relaxed, open-door sitting area where clients can drop by throughout the whole month. Great for building personal relationships.
3. Choosing the Right Venue
For VIP corporate Iftars in Riyadh, the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons are top-tier choices. If you want something more modern and business-focused, the new venues in KAFD are excellent.
Expert Tip
Watch the Traffic! The streets are incredibly busy right before sunset (Maghrib). Choose a venue that is easy for your guests to reach, or they might miss the Iftar!
4. The Perfect Ramadan Menu
Your menu must be perfect. You absolutely must have high-quality dates (like Sukkari or Ajwa), Laban, and Zamzam water on the tables. The buffet should feature Saudi favorites like Kabsa and Saleeg, along with a dedicated dessert station for Kunafa and Luqaimat. And of course, endless Arabic coffee (Gahwa) is a must!
